About the Artist

Berenice Della Porta Gordillo is an Italian-Nicaraguan artist, born in Rome in a very multicultural and artistic family, and currently based in Melbourne, Australia. She completed in 2010 a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at the University of Bologna in Italy and is currently completing a double Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science and International Development at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Berenice received extensive artistic training in her home in Rome where her parents introduced her to many painting and drawing techniques, including oil, acrylic, watercolour, pyrography, charcoal, pastels, sanguine and Rapidograph. Her mother Ena Gordillo Castellon, an accomplished Nicaraguan artist, has taught her the art of pyrography.
